This service facilitates the issuance of a new Tazkira (National ID) as well as corrections to name, surname, and year of birth for Afghan nationals residing within our consular jurisdiction. All requests under this category are processed in-absentia, meaning the applicant applies from Munich while a designated direct relative acts on their behalf inside Afghanistan.
Please be aware that the Consulate General of Afghanistan in Munich provides Tazkira services exclusively to residents of:
Bavaria (Bayern)
Baden-Württemberg
Applicants residing in other German federal states must direct their Tazkira inquiries to the Afghan representations in Berlin or Bonn. Applications submitted to Munich from outside these two states will be returned unprocessed.

Mandatory Requirements: Relatives in Afghanistan
To process an in-absentia Tazkira request, one of the following direct relatives must be physically present in Afghanistan to complete the administrative formalities on your behalf (Father, Brother, Paternal Uncle, Paternal Uncle’s Son, Paternal Grandfather, Paternal Aunt)
Required Documents

- Proxy’s Documents: Clear copy of the direct relative’s Tazkira.
- Applicant’s Documents: Clear copy of your existing Tazkira (if applying for a correction or renewal) + 2 recent passport-sized photographs.
- Residency Proof: Copy of your valid German residence permit (Aufenthaltstitel) or valid visa.
Important Notes
If you do not have any of the above relatives currently residing in or able to travel to Afghanistan, we regret that we cannot process your request. Please do not schedule an appointment or visit the Consulate unless this requirement is met.
