Information on obtaining Celibacy Certificate (Single Status)

Nationals of Afghanistan residing in Germany, especially those living in Bayern and Baden-Württemberg can apply for a Celibacy Certificate at this Consulate General.

Important Information and Instructions
  1. Applicants, along with three confessors and two witnesses who are adult and Afghan Citizens must visit the Consulate General in person. This document cannot be processed or issued in the absence of the applicants, via post or online.
  2. Important: Applicants must book an appointment in advance using the following link: [Termin].
    Visiting the Consulate General without an appointment is not permitted.
  3. Applications are accepted during the official working days and hours.
Required Documents

To apply for the Celibacy Certificate, the following documents are required:

  • Celibacy Certificate Form: The applicants must fill out the form with all necessary details about himself/herself, three confessors and two witnesses. Additionally, applicants, three confessors and two witnesses must attach their photos and provide their signatures or thumbprints as required. This form can only be downloaded from [Here].
  • Proof of Afghan Citizenship: The applicants, three confessors and two witnesses must provide their original Tazkira, e-Tazkira or Afghan Passport, along with copies.
  • Proof of German Resident Permit: The applicants, three confessors and two witnesses must provide a copy of their Aufenthaltstitel/Personalausweis [Sample] (both side – showing the name and addresses of the holders).
  • Extended Registration Certificate: The applicants must provide an Erweiterte Meldebescheinigung  [Sample] as evidence to confirm that they were under the age of 18 when they left Afghanistan and sought asylum in Germany.
  • Two Passport-Size Photographs: The Applicants, three confessors and two witnesses must provide two recently taken photos with a white background. Photo [Sample].
Issuance of the Document

The document will be issued on the same day after the completion of the following steps:

  • In-Person Interview: Applicants must attend a mandatory interview at the Consulate General, where their celibacy status will be verified based on the submitted documents and information provided during the application.

  • Fee: The fee for the Celibacy Certificate is €75. Payments can be made via bank card.

  • Same-Day Issuance: Once all requirements are met, the document will be issued on the same day during working hours.

Important Notes
  • Document Preparation: Ensure that you bring all required documents with you to avoid delays in processing. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • The above information applies exclusively to Afghan nationals who arrived in Germany under the age of 18.
  • Applicants who arrived in Germany at or above 18 years of age must first apply for a Power of Attorney to obtain Celibacy Certificate from Afghanistan.
  • Validity: The Confirmation of Celibacy is valid for a period of 6 months from the date of issuance.
